At SOFTSWISS, ‘We Care’ is more than just a phrase displayed on the website – it is a guiding principle woven into the fabric of everyday life. It reflects a commitment to supporting one another through highs and lows, recognising the power of compassion, and embracing the unique support systems that enrich life. This International Pet Day 2025, SOFTSWISS is celebrating the positive impact pets have on well-being, as well as the company’s dedication to giving back to animals in need.
Animals Helping Humans
Studies show that animal companionship can lower stress, reduce anxiety, and even improve heart health. In honour of International Pet Day 2025, SOFTSWISS people shared personal pet rescue stories – real examples of the therapeutic benefits pets offer and how animals have helped them heal, grow, and cope.
Totosi: A Puppy Who Helped Heal a Family
After the devastating loss of a loved one, Mariam Khornauli, Talent Acquisition Partner, found her home filled with silence and sadness – until Totosi, the tiniest black puppy, came into her life. With his playful antics and infectious energy, Totosi quickly became the centre of attention in the Khornauli household, providing comfort and joy when it was needed most. From Grandma’s protective bed-guarding to Mum’s culinary supervision, Totosi filled their home with love and laughter.
Bucks: The Cat Who Brought a Family Closer
Maryia Shastsitka, Internal Communications Editor, had always dreamt of having a cat, but growing up, it was never an option. Years later, fate (and an adoption ad) brought Bucks into her life – a tiny fluffball with a heart as big as his paws. Bucks didn’t just become her companion; he became part of the family. From shared ice cream rituals to emotional support, Bucks played the role of both friend and “little brother.” Now living with Maryia’s parents, Bucks holds the honorary title of “the one who brought the family closer.”
Tsutsa: From the Street to the Heart
Nino Berdzenishvili, Reactivation Specialist, never considered herself a cat person – until a scruffy kitten named Tsutsa entered her life. Soon after, Nino experienced a personal tragedy, but Tsutsa was there every step of the way, offering warmth, loyalty, and quiet support. Tsutsa didn’t just get rescued – she became the rescuer, helping Nino find the strength to heal.
Simba: The Kitten Who Beat the Odds
Simba, a tiny kitten with a heart full of love, joined the household of Zorayr Asatur, Business Development Manager, despite a challenging medical condition. What followed was a journey filled with vet visits, emotional ups and downs, and pure resilience. Today, Simba is thriving – a testament to the strength of love and hope.
Precel: The Sausage Dog Who Spreads Sunshine
Katarzyna Kaminska, Talent Acquisition Partner, has a miniature dachshund named Precel, whose presence is far greater than his size. Every walk with Precel turns into a joyful parade, with strangers stopping to admire him. Precel’s curiosity and joyful nature have taught Katarzyna to cherish the simple pleasures of life – sometimes, the best way to stay grounded is to stop and appreciate the little things, like sniffing the leaves on a walk.
Humans Helping Animals in Need
SOFTSWISS values the unique bond between humans and animals and actively supports initiatives aimed at improving the lives of pets in need. This year, in honour of International Pet Day, SOFTSWISS has donated €1,000 each to five exceptional animal shelters in the regions where the team lives and works:
- Dog Organization Georgia – Supporting rescue efforts and adoption in Tbilisi
- Malta Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (MSPCA) – One of the island’s oldest and most respected NGOs
- Simbaanimal Aid Cyprus – A volunteer-led group rescuing stray and abandoned pets
- Polska Fundacja Azylu pod Psium Aniołem – Advocating for animal rights and rehoming abused animals
By combining global actions with local compassion, SOFTSWISS hopes to inspire more people to support animal shelters, celebrate the importance of pet therapy, and foster kindness both inside and outside the workplace.
This International Pet Day, take a moment to appreciate your pet with an extra cuddle and know that at SOFTSWISS, we’ve got tails and hearts covered.
