Overview:
SOFTSWISS is hiring a highly experienced Atlassian Engineer to join our Atlassian Team within the IT Department. You’ll take full ownership of our Atlassian ecosystem—Jira, Confluence, and Opsgenie—focusing on customization, automation, and cross-platform integrations. You’ll work closely with technical and business teams to build scalable solutions, automate complex workflows, and optimize enterprise-wide usage of Atlassian tools.
Purpose of the Role:
You’ll ensure that Atlassian products across the company are tailored, automated, and extended to meet evolving business needs. You will serve process optimization, plugin strategy, and integrations—delivering efficient, reliable, and secure tooling that aligns with enterprise standards and supports cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Administration and Maintenance:
- Administer and manage all Atlassian products across the company (Jira, Confluence, Opsgenie), ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Evaluate, test, and implement new versions, add-ons, and plugins for these tools.
- Continuously monitor system health and performance metrics, diagnosing and resolving application bugs, addressing performance degradation, and conducting advanced troubleshooting to ensure stability and efficiency.
Customization and Automation:
- Create and manage complex Jira workflows, screen, field, permission, and notification schemes.
- Automate processes using advanced Groovy scripting, REST API, and tools like ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira, and BigPicture.
- Develop and implement integrations with third-party systems, including HR platforms, messaging tools (e.g. Slack), and development systems such as GitLab, Bitbucket, and other DevOps tools Integrations.
Key Focus Area:
- Act as the main point of contact for business-driven integration initiatives involving Atlassian products.
- Design and implement robust integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, middleware platforms, and scripting.
- Handle end-to-end integration workflows – from collecting requirements and assessing feasibility to architecture design, implementation, deployment, and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across HR, Finance, Engineering, and Operations to enable seamless data and process flow between Atlassian and external systems.
- Typical integration targets include (but are not limited to):
HR systems: HiBob, BambooHR, Workday.
CRM platforms: HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive.
Communication tools:
- Slack, Google Workspace DevOps & CI/CD: GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps.
- Finance & Procurement: 1С, SAP, Netsuite IAM systems: Azure AD, Okta, Keycloak, LDAP.
- Custom internal tools and APIs Ensure integrations are scalable, secure, and follow best practices in error handling, logging, and API management.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce manual handoffs between systems.
Plugin Expertise:
- Configure and maintain essential Jira plugins, including EazyBI, Email This Issue, Jira Workflow Toolbox, Tempo Timesheets, Jira Misc Workflow Extensions, and Extension for Jira Service Desk.
- Evaluate and recommend new plugins to meet evolving business needs.
- Optimize plugin usage to enhance workflows, reporting, and automation capabilities.
Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide advanced support and troubleshoot complex issues related to Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Opsgenie) and integrated plugins (e.g., EazyBI, Tempo Timesheets).
- Lead incident resolution and root cause analysis for critical system outages.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions aligned with industry best practices.
Strategic Projects:
- Lead large-scale migration projects, such as transitioning from Server/Data Center to Atlassian Cloud.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to align Atlassian tools with organizational goals and compliance standards.
- Establish best practices for governance, user management, and tool optimization in enterprise environments.
Required Experience:
- At least 4+ years of hands-on experience with Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and Opsgenie (Data Center or Server).
- Proven experience administering Atlassian products in large-scale enterprise environments with 1000+ users.
- Expertise in managing and optimizing complex Jira workflows, permission schemes, and reporting tools.
- Russian – native-level proficiency; English proficiency at B1+ level or higher.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Groovy scripting, REST API, and custom automation for enterprise-scale solutions.
- Strong experience with 3rd-party add-ons: ScriptRunner, EazyBI, BigPicture, and Automation for Jira.
- Experience with Insight Asset Management and advanced reporting using SQL and JQL.
- Basic understanding of Linux and SQL for system configuration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with integration of identity systems (Active Directory, LDAP, or Azure AD).
Integration Experience:
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining integrations between Atlassian tools and external systems (e.g., HubSpot, HiBob, Slack, GitLab, Workday, etc.).
- Ability to design scalable integration architectures and troubleshoot data flow, API limits, auth methods, and sync issues.
- Experience with automation tools (Zapier, n8n, Make, or custom solutions) is a plus.

Nice to have:
- Experience with migrating Atlassian environments (e.g., Server to Cloud).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Bamboo Atlassian certification: ACP-100.
- Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g. GDPR, SOC2) and their application in Atlassian environments.
