For the second year in a row, SOFTSWISS has participated in the global Pink October initiative, which raises awareness about breast cancer prevention. The company continues to show dedication to its employees’ health and well-being.
Supporting Community Through Action
This year’s Pink October at SOFTSWISS is centred around ‘A Minute Today. A Future Ahead’. Throughout the month, various events are held at SOFTSWISS offices to highlight the importance of early detection, which plays a crucial role in fighting breast cancer. For example, female employees can access additional medical screenings and participate in sessions to improve their physical and mental health.
A key part of the campaign was a webinar titled ‘How to Communicate with Someone Going Through a Difficult Time’, where an expert shared practical advice with participants. SOFTSWISS organised this event in partnership with its mental health program provider, Meclee, which offers employees access to paid psychological consultations.
Another highlight of this year’s initiative was SOFTSWISS’ participation in ‘Zawsze Pier(w)si’, Poland’s most prominent sports event supporting breast cancer prevention, which has been held annually since 2015. SOFTSWISS employees from cities across Poland, including Warsaw, Poznań, and Wrocław, as well as from countries ranging from Georgia to South Africa, took part in a 5K virtual run. This run promotes the importance of regular check-ups and overall health awareness. The funds raised through registration and the purchase of race kits will be donated to breast cancer prevention projects.
“Participating in Pink October has become an important tradition at SOFTSWISS. We actively care for our employees’ health and support this initiative to share vital information within and outside the company. With nearly half of our team being women, promoting breast cancer prevention is especially important to us. As a respected and influential company in the tech industry, we use our voice to educate and draw attention to key issues,” says Natalia Perkowska, Deputy Chief HR Officer at SOFTSWISS.
Supporting Pink October is just one way SOFTSWISS creates a positive and healthy work environment for its team. This year, SOFTSWISS was recognised at the SBC Awards 2024, winning the Employer of the Year Award. Initiatives like Pink October strengthen corporate culture and encourage employees to prioritise their health. Next month, SOFTSWISS will participate in the Movember initiative, focusing on raising awareness about men’s health.
